OMG! What a pleasant surprise this book turned out to be. An HEA that is clever, funny and a delight to read. Once I started, I could not put the book down. Cade is an ex-football superstar who is fine, wealthy, charming and head anchor for the sports center. Stone, aka, Rebecca is ambitious, curvy and smart. She’s determined to earn the weekend anchor spot based on her skills; in spite of her malicious boss. As co-workers, the attraction between them is immediate. Add Chas (Rebecca's hilarious room-mate whose number one gig is imitating RuPaul) with Trent (Cade's gay kind hearted brother) to the mix and you have a story line that includes a great plot with laughter, forgiveness and a few unbelievable panty melting sex scenes. Rebecca Fieldstone (aka Stone) is a feature reporter with her eyes on moving up to the weekend anchor gig. Cade Hull is a former NFL QB sidelined by injury who recently found his footing as the sports anchor at the same station. She thinks his family name and fortune, as well as his NFL caché, got him the gig. He thinks she's . . . intriguing.
Stone and Cade are delightful and dimensional characters. Their supporting cast is phenomenal - the perfect counter-balance to the humor and drama of the main story. Plenty of laughs, some feels, a little adventure, and the right amount of sexy-sexy-times, this is a fantastic must-read!
What can you say about a book, where two amazing writers, take you on a funny and romantic ride? Not a bad thing. I loved this book so much. It made me laugh, cry, get mad and laugh some more. Took me awhile to like Cade, but when I did, he was dreamy. Him and Stone (Rebecca) together were a good choice. They were definitely opposites of each other, but brought out the best in each other. One of my favorite books that I've read in a long time. Fantastic read that I definitely recommend everyone giving it a shot!
What a great read. I haven't read Ms. Madden-Mills before and only one of Ms. Louise's books, but I have to say, they did a great job putting together this book, and if they write something else together, I certainly won't hesitate to buy it. And I will most definitely be checking out some of their individual works.

OMG! I loved this book!! It literally had me on a roller coaster ride of emotions!! I laughed, I cried, and then I laughed some more. This is the story of Cade, a former NFL QB, and Rebecca, an up and coming news reporter. Rebecca's life is falling apart - one crazy incident after another at work, her boyfriend left her and her best friend moved to New York. Case is just starting a career in sports broadcasting after a knee injury ends his NFL career. This is a super sweet and hilarious story of how two completely different people can fall in love!! This is a must read story!! Absolutely one of my favorite Rom Com's so far this year!!❤️❤️
So what happens when 2 greats such as Ilsa Madden-Mills and Tia Louise great together and write a book together. ...Perfection, plain and simple perfection 5 stars isn't enough to do this book justice. I absolutely loved this book! I couldn't get enough of it and I never wanted it to end, truthfully can we start having never ending books now? That would be great! Thanks! The chemistry between Cade and Rebecca practically jumps out of the kindle and shocks you. The things that Rebecca can get herself into are hilarious!! And Cade’s personality screams sexy alpha cut-up. Then you throw in her roommate, his brother, a monkey, and some taco's and you have a recipe for success!!! I really can not stress how much I enjoyed this book enough! This review will not do it justice and I had no words for the longest time and it put me in a book hangover! All I want to do is reread it over and over again!!! Of course I already love Ilsa and Tia on their own but they make one hell of a team!!! This will definitely be one of my top reads of 2017!!! I love me some Ilsa Madden- Mills! I love me some Tia Louise!! Put them together and BAM, you have a super team!!! The Last Guy was just sexy, witty, funny, and a great summer read that I just devoured!!! DEVOURED! If I didn't already know this was written by two authors I would assume it was written by just one person. The writing was seamless and effortless and since I'm a fan of both I would not be able to tell the two apart! The Last Guy is one you need to read!! It's a complete novel told in alternating points of views.
Rebecca is a reporter for a local news station with dreams to be a reporter. It just seems she cannot win for loosing! She is giving the crap jobs to report on and always makes the best of it. But when a story involving a monkey goes viral (this was just HILARIOUS!) it gives the station ammunition to keep her as a reporter instead of the anchor she strives to be!
And then there's Cade, let's just get the dreamy sigh over with now!! sigh.... What is not to love about the beefcake ex-NFL quarterback turned sports anchor? One night out with his brother he runs into Rebecca and they cannot deny the chemistry. One to many shots and a night of hotness will lead to many more memorable moments.
The supporting cast was also amazing!! These are the types of characters you want to pop out of your book and hang out with! They are hilarious and I hope we get a spin off or two in the future!
Something I wasn't expecting was a little suspense! The Last Guy has it all! This is one I highly recommend you pick up as its a perfect for a summer read!
